What's exact difference in engine and any other major differences between them and try to be as specific as possible. I have a friend whos brother works with ford but also with other dealers and can find me almost anything I want and for cheaper than usual from what he has told me. I just have to decide wether I want the Z28 or the SS. I do want to work on it adding mods and add stuff to it espically body kit. This camaro good idea of what I want to do.

You could do that to either, those are stella ground effects and a fairly popular aftermarket spoiler. IMO if your gonna make it look like that, buy a Z28. Personaly I hate it when people do apearence mods to SS's unless of course they keep all the factory original parts neetly pack up in the garage so that they can go with the car when I'm ready to come along and buy it. I would never buy that SS off that guy unless he add all the original parts for me somewhere. That's just me though, Im a little old fashioned. Don't get me wrong, my Z has mods, but every original part is packed away neetly in my garage.

Well thanks for that but it still didn't answer anything I asked.

Difference is minimal in the engine.A ram air and the performance exhaust was an option.Look on the SLP sticker in the engine compartment to see the options.Other possible options were handling packages,ZR -1 tires and wheels, hurst shifter, floor mats, and Torsen posi.I maybe forgeting something, but thats about it.Not a lot difference, except in appearence.

When I bought my SS back in '97, I wanted it just because of the look. That hood and spoiler looked great with the ZR1 wheels.
I never realized at the time it had the "2 on the left" catback. It completely rocks.
Nor did I know about the Bilstein suspension, oil cooler, Hurst shifter, Torsen rearend, etc.
Turns out mine had every option from GM and was only missing the extra set of wheels option from SLP which was a $2k addition.
I am proud to have one. It was nice to have all the options already on it.
If you want to mod the snot out of it, get a Z.
Just my $.02.
