Z28--------to-------->SS
if you were converting to a true ram air hood like SLP sells with the airbox etc then yes you would get the true performance of the ram air. The SS hood looks cool but it's a forced induction vs true ram air and a decent CAI does as good if not better. Otherwise it's just a matter of converting to SS for looks. but if you are going to then do it right with the correct badging, seats, spoiler, etc. I've considered something like this for mine but I think the SLP hood is a good looking hood without making it look like a pontiac ramair wannabe. It is unique in it's own respect and the recess down the middle gives it an added streamlined appearance.

The difference in price come from the fact that an SS cost on avg 3-4000 more to buy then a Z28 & you can do all the mods to make a Z an SS for less then that. That's the only advantage to buying a Z & modding it vs an SS.
