Z wont start

I have a 1997 Camaro Z28. Recently installed a Borla Adjustable Catback, no cats, so check engine light is always on. Someone standing outside my car this evening said it smelled rich. On my way home, I noticed I was getting pretty low on fuel so I stopped to refill. After leaving the gas pumps, not even a mile down the road, car starts rumbling and shaking (best way I can think to describe) and shut off. The car restarted a few times for just a minute or so then would not start at all.. I checked the fuel related fuses inside and under the hood and both are good. Straight up, I am a female, but probably a little more mechanically inclined than most of my gender...love cars/Camaro's. I will most likely be taking it in to a garage but looking for some simple solutions I might check myself, and also just for some heads up so I dont get taken advantage of when I do make it to the garage. Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Re: Z wont start

Scan it for codes. Check the fuel pressure.

Now you see why driving with the SES light on prevents you from seeing new problems as they develop. You can either get "O2 sims" to eliminate the SES light, or have the after-cat O2 sensors programmed out so there is no code set.

A car with no cats always smells rich compared to a car with cats.
