you wont believe what comp cams told me
I think calling the tech line is luck of the draw and you drew badly this time. If he recommended that cam, the 1.5 rockers and stock springs then every last thing he told you was completely wrong, well let's see you answer the above question, maybe he got his own name right, we can hope at least.
I called them a few days ago to help me choose a turbo cam and He only wanted to know if its a m6 or an auto, thats it. He said he didnt need to know any thing else. He didnt really seem to care to help much.. I will never call them again.
Customer service hotlines aren't worth diddly pooh, and that applies to any sort of product really.
hmmm
i have REALLY been thinking hard about going with a lunati cam...but no one ever posts about which ones are the best, everyone just always talks about comp...what are the good lunati cams out there?
go with the voodoo line.
the part number i have is 60122.
its for a 87+ factory roller block motor.
its going in a 96-2000 vortec truck motor, thats going in my chevelle.
specs in at
231/239 duration 282/290 535/550 (w/ 1.5 RR's), 110/106
they have the rollers so you can convert a FT block to roller, and they have a line of hydraulic rollers, and also solid rollers.
with my cam i had to push the pin in for the timing gear because they come out far enough so it can be used on an lt1.
it also has a fuel pump lobe on the front, its ground from a billet core too.
if you want to see alot of happy lunati cam owners, check out www.chevelles.com/forums and do a search for voodoo cam, alot of happy owners and great power making combo's, (i personally know 2 solid roller big blocks (one 408, one 468, making over 500whp all motor), and i a 388 with the biggest voodoo FT cam with 200cc rhs heads and 12:1 on nitrous).
the comp and crane grinds are old grinds (except for the xfi stuff). lunati rep told me that the hydraulic rollers were not going to be advertised like the FT's. not sure for what reason, but i think it should be.

At least you know better not to take his word for it.
