yet another head removal ?

when removing heads do you have to remove the bolts that hold the rockers on?

You don't have to remove the rocker studs to get the heads off. All you have to do is remove the nut that holds the rocker onto the stud. The only reason to do that is to gain access to the head bolts.

I removed the rockers before I removed the heads. I would sure hate for the valves to snap shut once the heads are off.

Edit-I missunderstood your question. I left the rocker studs on when I removed the heads. I thought you were talking about leaving the rockers on when removing the heads.

I removed all the bolts except the banjo.
I was asking because they are not budging.

Have fun w/ the banjo bolts. My new lines are coming soon. It was much easier to cut lines, remove bolt and order new ones. Some have cut the hard line and spliced in a flexible line.
What's not budging, the heads or the banjo bolts?

All I can tell you is to make sure that you have ALL of the bolts out and then try a rubber mallet. They may be stuck on pretty good.

use a pry bar under the heads where they overlap over the lifter valley, use the front of the block to pry off of.
