Well if your comp is an OBD2 then its a 96 or 97... But as far as the engine goes... Doesn't it say somewhere on the underside of the block??

F-bodies have a VIN derivative stamped on the engine. I would imagine the Roadmaster engine has one, but I don't know if the codes are the same.

Re: year of lt1 need help

ALL b-bodies 94-96 got the vented opti, yeah we got it before the Vette and f-body.

If it has no CPS it is a 94-5 if it has a CPS it is a 96.

I am sure the VIN derivative is there too just I never looked at it.

FYI 94-96 the LT1 was the one and only engine option for the Roadmaster and Fleetwood, so they can be good sources especially seeing as the price is usually reasonable because they are not seen as "performance" cars. They got the same exact engine as the Impala SS or the optional LT1 in the Caprice cop cars but without the extra pricetag the ImpalaSS name would command or occassionally the "cop engine" price tacked to a 9C1 engine. Granted they are iron heads which many of you write off due to ignorance but the shortblock is identical to the f-body.

*courtesy of shoebox*
The part numbers for the LT1 ECM/PCMs are:
93=16159278 OBDI
94=16188051 OBDI
95=16188051 OBDI
96=16214399 OBDII
97=16242921 OBDII

The number is on the back of the PCM. But yeah the CPS sensor is a dead give away.
