"y" pipe robbing power?
"y" pipe robbing power?
to make a long story short...
the shop that i had fab up my y-pipe for my long tube headers made the passengers side pipe go in pretty much the stock location, and the drivers side come from the header collector to the intermediate(sp?) pipe at a complete right angle, so it looks like a "T". so it isn't a "y" pipe, more of a "T" pipe.
i hope that explains it well enough....
i know it's not the most optimal setup, and i'm sure on a 700 horsepower engine it would make a huge difference, but on a 280-290 rwhp setup, would it make a noticable difference?

Yes its gonna be robbing you power. Ask them if they've heard of mandrel bends. Bends reduce flow a lot, the larger the radius the better and it sounds like you have no radius. I'd be livid if i paid money for something like that.

A freind has a 96 T/A with ported heads , 306 cam, and hooker LTs. He had a custom Y made and they didnt do too good of a job (flow wise) on it, with cut-outs closed he dynoed in the 360 range, with them open he dynoed in the 390 range.
