XE 227/233 cam is in (stock heads)

I picked up my car lastnight from a guy in my camaro club who installed it for me ( http://www.hardenmotorsports.com/ for those of you around southern Indiana he is a great guy to work with). He installed 1.6 Pro-Mag RR, CMotorsports Springs, along with the 227/233 (.560/.569 lift on 112 LSA). Also did the OBDI conversion and had him program it with Tuner Cat. It just runs awesome. I expected it to drive like crap around town but it is amazingly close to stock. It has a little cam surge around 1600 RPMs but its easy to avoid. Besides that it drives great. And man it just sounds nasty with my exhaust setup !! Next summer I'll be getting heads, the guys at CMotorsports said I can expect anywhere from 360 to 410 at the wheels depending on the heads of course so we will see. No dyno numbers but it pulls awesome up top. I hope to get it dyno tuned soon. So anyway just letting anyone interested know about my cam success.

Congrats. Feels fast at first, but drive it around for a week or so it will feel slow You may spring for heads sooner than you think. Once the bug bites...

Charged me $400 for everything. That included changing my water pump which he found had taken a sh*t and was dripping on my opti. I don't know what he would charge someone else. His dad was president of our camaro club so we were good friends and all. But i'm sure it would be almost the same if not the same.

Cam Install

Congrats Man!!

I also just installed that cam/spring combo, (on 111 LSA), and so far so good. Don't have dyno or track times yet but I will soon. I've noticed slightly more cam surge than the CC305, but still it revs, maybe a little too quickly because with tire spin in 1st it's difficult not to bump my 6400 Rev limiter.

Edit: Forgot to point out that I have locally P&P heads.

How does that cam feel compared to the cc305, was it worth the swap? I want to get a slightly bigger cam but don't know if it's worth the hassle or just better to spend that money on p&p'ed heads.

Honestly I think that I would do heads because I believe that you'll get more of a gain. When you do get your heads done make sure and get them flowed and keep the report. That way later on down the road you can get a cam matched to your heads. Oh and make sure that you do the valve spring seats on your heads so that you can run a larger diameter spring setup.

I only changed the cam because I was doing an opti swap and found that my dowel pin was not long enough. In other words I had to pull the cam no matter what.

the .560 .569 lift #s are quoted by CMotorsports using 1.6 rockers already...

Please post a sound clip!! I'm looking at the 224/230 or the 227/233 and would like to hear the later. I'd be forever grateful!
