XE 224/230 Kit vs. LT4 Kit

I've really been looking into doing a cam in my 96 Z28. I am split between the LT4 KIT and the XE 224/230 with springs, rockers, pushrods, lifters, etc.....The XE 224/230 Kit that I have put together will cost around $1200, and the LT4 Kit will cost around $2200, but it does come with heads (I'm not planning on doing heads if I do the XE 224/230.)

Emissions is an issue with me, for this car will be an everyday driver in MASS . I've heard the LT4 Kit will pass without an issue, but I might have some troubles with the XE 224/230 setup.

Basically what I'm asking is, will I be making more rear wheel power with the LT4 kit, or that XE 224/230 Kit that I have put together? Any dynoes of the LT4 Kit would be appreciated, and all input will also be helpful...thanks!

$1200 is waay way jacked up on the price!!
check with www.combinationmotorsports.com and they will damn near cut that $1200 in half with a "kit" of everything you need!

What mods do you have? I'll be running a stock headed motor, torn between that cam (227/233) and 224/230. Sorry for hijacking.

CMotorsports' GP usually is around $600 to your door for everything. I wouldn't get the LT4 kit. For that money Lloyd can easily do a really nice job on your stock heads and you'll have money left to play.

Yeah I plan on getting Jet Hot Long tubes and a custom y-pipe. Then plugs and wires. Then the cam install!
