I just received my new door in the mail today and it looks great, after about a hour or so I am finishing up the the removal of my old door and install of the new one and dont you know the driver side window will not roll up.

My first thought was hey the motor is bad, well i can just replace that with the old one.......hooked up old door real quick and............................... nothing Now it seems somehow I have broken the switch for the driver side window or shorted the line,(I can still role up and down the passenger side from both the driver and passenger side, use mirrors and lock doors.

Any help as to why I cant have a good running car would be greatly appreciated.

Also note that yes, my car is finally all black, but window will not roll up, and we are having torrential thunderstorms right now in NY. GO FIGURE

 

Did ya have a ground wire from the door to the car?

 

Bolted to the door no, there wasnt one on the existing door, but if there was supposed to be it wouldnt suprise me that there wasnt. Long story

 

If the door was on the ground when ya hooked it up it has no ground.
