Does the cable store the VIN? I thought I have read that somewere. I guess what I am really asking is what all do I need to make sure is done or comes with a used program that will work on my 97Z with OBD1 PCM? Just trying to save a few dollars than buying new and want to make sure it will work. Thanks Alan

 

it is locked to a specific vin number, therefore you will need the pcm of the person that you are buying the lt1 edit from.

 

Theres no way to take it out of the pcm? Are is it like a hypertech were you have to uninstall the programing and install it in another car? Alan

 

you can add another vin number to the program but I believe it is somewhere between 150 and 200 to do so.
