wow this is a change from 12mpg

Been drving the car and noticed the gas mileage is way up, today I filled up about 205 miles since the last fill up and it only took 12.3 gallons, so I had a good 2.5 gallons in there. This is all city stop and go driving. So I'm faily pleased, must be getting around 15mpg, not bad at all. I drive it a lot easier but I think new plugs, wires and opti helped a lot.

My cars an auto though, I think I would have to idle it every were to get the 17. Once again, pure city driving, no high way.

Yeah the tranny makes a big difference. When I do just city driving I get about 19-21 and when I'm doing highway I get about 27-30.

i get like 12 miles to a gallon at best for city only driving. i drive fairly fast but my mileage is rediculous. I use the medium octane and just had the fuel injectors cleaned and fuel filter replaced. who knows?

19-21 city? ur city must have the best flowing streets in the world. ur getting better mileage than a LS1 and some V6s. Anyway, I get about 13mpg in manhattan/bronx/queens/brooklyn drivin.

The best mileage I ever got since I owned my car was 17 miles to a gallon and that was a lot of highway driving. I usually average about 12 city. However, my friend has a 94 Firebird that got 26 miles to a gallon on the highway and I personally seen it happen because I seen him fill up before we left and fill up when we got back otherwise I would have never believed it. I also came to the conclusion that alot of you're gas mileage has to do with where you live, here in New Jersey, alot of times highway driving still requires stop and go.

I feel better now..the one time I got 19 I was like crap I must have driven it a bit hard or something...and no OKC streets don't flow that well...but they're not **** poor either.

with about 75% highway/25% street I get 19-23MPG (depending on my foot). Pure highway I can pull 27, and that was before the headers/tuneup. I could easily see me pulling 15-17 100% street driving.

From what I"ve been told headers are good for a 2mpg gain on the highway...thats pretty damn good if you ask me.

I get about 12mpg in C-bus Ohio. Mind you that rush hour isn't nearly as bad as LA. It only lasts for four hours instead of eight.

NEwayz, I got a Z with just CAI and Flowmaster. I just had a carbon cleaning, new plugs, wires, and new IAC put in to help it idle correctly. What could I do to improve gas mileage. Easy mods I can do in an afternoon. How do I clean my K&N. Should I get a new elbow, something that is nice and shiny as opposed to black plastic. I figure a vortech elbow will flow better. Got a 93, so no MAF to worry about being in the way of flow. Got a new fuel filter also and running premium 100% of the time with a 6spd that I might wind out to 4 every now and again.

Ideas please. Will probably rebuild when $$$ rolls in a bit better.

later fellas and the hot chicas rollin the Z's and T/A's
