Would it work to put a T in the drivers side coolan passage?

I've decided to take the plunge and go with an electric waterpump, but i'm still not super confident in them. I want to rig up some sort of warning device to let me know when the car is getting hot in case i'm not looking at my coolant gauge at that exact second. I was wondering if it would work to rig up a T in the drivers side head where the coolant sensor is and put the gauge sensor in one side and THIS in the other side. Do you think this will still get an accurate reading or will the T just fill up with coolant and not really transfer back out to give it a good reading. I've been with my buddy when his pump wasn't working and he only had a few seconds to get his car off the road and shut down so i want the setup to be very accurate. Anyone done this? I could try to use one of the other holes on the heads but they're all really hard to get to and close to my headers.

The problem I see is that when the pump fails, it will not move coolant through those lines...hence what are you going to detect. change in temp? doubtful..

Thats why i was going to put it in the head, i just didn't know if the heat would transfer decently through the T to get the sensors. I wanted to put it in my waterpump until my buddy said that wouldn't work cause once the pump died there wouldn't be any flow.

Well because i wasn't actually going to use the light. I think it looks terrible when people put lights in their dash/car. I was planning on rigging up a buzzer underneathe the dash instead of the light. Thats why i need a sensor like this to operate it.
