I was thinkng about welding a metal plate over the opening on them to help stiffen them up. Is this a good or bad idea?

 

SLP sells reinforced stock control arms, and panhard rods with the exact same idea as you are going to try. It will help I am sure, however you still have the stock rubber bushings, and you are adding some weight....might be better off buying aftermarket items...but its your choice

 

I thought the 1LE had the hardened bushings. Is this true or false?
