Would E/T drags be too much for rear end?

Would E/T drags be too much for rear end?

I'm looking at purchasing a set of Mickey Thompson E/T drags but am conserned that if they hook to hard it will trash my rearend. My mods are in the sig but a 2500 stall convertor will be added to the list here shortly.

Thanks

Adam

IMO Nitto or BFG DR's would probably be better for you. ET Streets or Drags would probably provide a lot more rolling resistance on the big end and maybe slow you down a hair up top.

I agree with Kain about the rolling resistance. Also although you "might" be alright with sticky tires like that on an auto, I wouldn't recommend it. A4 cars don't take nearly as much of a shock to the rearend because the drivetrain is already loaded up apon launch. It's the M6 guys that really suffer with sticky tires. Still when you hook that much you could detonate the rear at any time. I wouldn't be suprized if you actually bogged a little by planting that hard and with the minimal mods you have, even with a stall. DR's are your better bet for now.

With those mods I would be looking at some Nitto Drag Radials. Also I know Mickey Thompson just came out with a Drag Radial.

Best of 1.55 60ft on ET Drags with 3,600 stall launching off a 150 shot. Only snapped 1 gear set in 3 years of street/strip abuse. I also agree on the rolling resistance issue. At your current power level drag radials should fit the bill nicely.

Hey I appreciate your help guys. I dragged many cars with Nitto 555r's so I'm familiar with what to expect on launch. Just wasn't sure about these. Thanks for the input again.

go with the et streets. They are a nice strip tire to have. The drag radials and the et streets will wear out quick if you ride on them on the street alot.

ET streets are awesome!!!! I hit 1.7s and 6s regularly in my 93 and that rear blew the pinion on streets tires.
