This would be cool..

I'm just pondering the logistic of something and probably won't ever have the means to do it but back in the day I had a Nova. They are subframe cars like the camaro. Aftermarket companies make cool clips to replace the front frame like this one.
http://www.cachassisworks.com/images/chevyiife.jpg (I had to click and then go back to the adress bar and hit enter for this pic to pop up.)

Obviously it wouldn't be aftermarket bolton like the Nova's but I always wanted to do this for the camaro so that I had about a million times more room to work on it, drop a ton of weight and maybe fill the fender seems and convert to front tilt hood like the vette. That would be the coolest to have the front hood and fenders seemless with a front hinged hood.

Has anyone thought about this, done this, know how much it would be, or have a clue how to go about it? Is there a blueprint for the exact locations of fender mounts, rad. etc or would it be like get out the tape and measure all the important point and start hacking off stuff?

Try clicking then go to address bar and hit enter.. basically it's the tube k member combined with tube framing instead of an inner fender like we have. It really doesn't seem like it would cost too much if you had the welding ability yourself. Just a lot of cutting and measuring and fabbing brackets in the right spot. Leave a small box area behind the tire like the vette does for pcm and battery.

I think maybe I just watch too much monster garage.. I start dreaming of the fun hot rod style things I could do to my car if I had the tools and shop.

haha.........ive been thinking the exact same thing.........it would be a pretty involved project though....to get everything to fit and line up perfectly...........but the space would be incredible, and the weight savings too..........if someone wanted to build an easier twin turbo system that would be ideal.
