Yea it can set off a high voltage warning in your opti. By the time you see that code though you may have just started to burn out your opti. You see with a burnt plug wire, if the power does not jump somewhere it may jump inside your opti thus burning it out.

Doesn't necessarily set a light or store a code...my #6 wire was bad, no light/no code. In the dark it was arcing all over the place and causing the coil to arc as well. Changed the wires, and the coil for good measure...

OBD1 will not set a ses light for a misfire...i had two burnt wires and no light came on, however, OBD2 will not only tell u a misfire is happening...it will tell you which cylinder is misfiring...nice
