WOT Timing

How much timing do you guys run at WOT (high loads/high rpm)

I'm having some knock retard from 3000- rpm and up and I cant get rid of it. I have the timing set to 23 deg MAX and still have some major KR.

Engine is 10:4 comp. Tpis ZZ9 camshaft

/N.

Have you tried replacing the knock sensor?

I was getting a lot of knock retard and tried several things. Turned out to be a bad sensor.

Looks like between 3700 and 4600 RPM in 3rd gear in mine, at WOT, the car was trying for 29-36 degrees total timing.

Yes, new sensor............

I've tried from 32 down to 20 deg at WOT, still KR probably false knocks.....

But I dont want any KR when I'm adding 9 psi of boost......

Have you tried racing fuel? Maybe add a couple of gallons to a half-3/4 tank of what you normally run?

Have you checked that your exhaust isn't tapping anywhere? I have heard that tapping on the exhaust can cause the knock sensor to go nuts, but I don't know for sure...

Does it do it when cold, hot, all the time?

Are you running the LT4 Knock Module?
