The car will run fine till i really get on it, and between the 4-5k rpm range the engine will start "popping" and the rpm will dropto around 2,500-3k rpm and kinda have a bounce between there and the 4-5k rpm. It doesn't matter what gear it's in, but seems to be more prone to right before it's suppose to shift out of 2nd.

Is the "popping" noise misfireing? rev limiter (not sure why it's going off so early)? detonation due to need of new timing (over 100,000 miles)?

Any ideas?

 

how old are the plugs and wires?

 

not even a year, NGK and 8mm taylor

I'm considering changing out the plugs, get OEM platinum ones.


Any idea on what the popping/stalling is?
