Is it worth porting my heads?

I plan on putting headers and a cam in my car. I want my car to be very strong on the street where it is mostly driven, and occasionally for drag. I'm not sure if I need to spend the money in porting my heads also or not? Check out my sig for my current mods. So what do you think?
Thanks!!!

The simple answer is YES.

Properly ported heads are probably the best power adder you can do aside from nitrous and forced induction.

With your combo and what you are planning on doing, you seem like the type that is not going to be satisfied with stock heads

IMO, spend the money necessary to have them done right. If all you want to spend right now is like $300 or so to "freshen" them up, save your money until you can have them done "better". The heads on my 96SS were done for $1800 labor. That might sound high but the car runs pretty strong for what it is... LT4 HOT cam with AS&M headers. Dynos at 399 rwhp and runs 115+mph in the 1/4. Much of that is attributed to the heads. So, IMO, have your heads ported and have them ported correctly

Obviously, they are worth the money. Heads are the best N/A mod you can invest in. Think investment

Eh? You're going to be hard pressed to get me to buy into heads being a good investment! Now, the fun factor and go fast factor, yeah, investment, no

Depends on if you have the $$ or not. If you dont have enough cash to get a set of well ported heads then just get a nice cam. Plenty of guys have put down 330-340rwhp with a nice cam setup on stock heads.
