Worth it to port match intake manifold?
Worth it to port match intake manifold?
I just bought some stage 1 heads. They flow around 23X at .500 and my question is if it would be worthwhile to port match an intake manifold to the heads? Would I see enough gain to warrant the labor charges? I have read that there isn't much of a gain anyway, but just curious.
How much might I see, if any? Does it hurt or hinder me in anyway if I don't port match?
Thanks in advance

Hold an intake gasket up to the intake and judge for yourself. There was alot of material to be removed in my case. After spending money to p&p the heads (also gasket matched of course) I couldn't imagine bolting down an intake that did not match. Like I said there was alot of material that didn't match up and I removed it witha die grinder. Its aluminum, not cast iron, not difficult. But look at it against the gasket, maybe yours isnt that bad. Hope that helps.
