Is it worth it to...

Is it worth the time to remove the honeycomb from the MAF on an otherwise stock car? It has a K&N and that's it. Would this cause pinging?? :HELP:

It won't cause a ping, but it won't be worth it either.

Leave it alone. The thin paper/foil honeycomb used in the LT1 MAF is not a significant obstruction to flow in a stock engine. And it helps the accuracy of the meter, so its a good idea to just leave it alone. Its not at all like the ones used in the 3rd Gens, with heavy metal screens on the inlet and outlet side. Those were an obstruction.

Leave it alone, it's not doing you a bit of harm.

Its always risky business tampering with the screens.

it doesn't. The General was too lazy cheap to make others.
Why does my LS1 have one?
