All depends, the auto to manual A4-T56 can be costly and time consuming. If you want a reliable one from a wrecked car contact f-parts salvage at www.fparts.us they always have them.

If plan to keep on racing at the track with your car you should get another auto for consistancy. If your gonna stop taking it there than the auto to manual swop might be worth your while.

With heads/cam/exhaust work the A4 owns M6 all day at the tracks, even if the M6 has a matching set-up to the A4's...

I'd stick with finding another A4...

yeah as long as you buil the A4 and get better clutches for it. Also it says its a tremec 6 speed yet I believe the 97s are only borg warner and I heard with they started using tremec parts they started breaking more hence ford using tremec

for 2k, you can build a auto to hold up to 750 hp. it will cost almost 4k to switch over to manual nad these guys are right about the auto at the drags! 60 foot times are pretty good with an auto

Thats if he wants to stay auto though. Auto will always be more consistant at the track and from speedinc you can get a stage 2 for like 1500 with core I think. But me I like to race around town and not just the track so I like dropping second and swinging out around a turn at 40 and still maintaining control

well i want a t56........most of the racing being done will be at the track, auto has got extreamly boring

the car is basically a fun cruise car the drive to one place to another...........occasional racing at the strip

how would it cost 4k????

1800 for pretty much everything.... plus me doing all labor

The 98-up T56s are Tremec, and will not work on an LT1 due to the different input shaft. Although the ad you posted specifies it fits 93-97 you should contact the seller to be sure.

I was lucky with my 69 BB Vette, and never missed a shift. But I also had a Duster that was fairly quick that won a few races just because the other car could'nt find third. There's got to be nothing worse than to lose a race because you missed a shift when you know you had the faster car. Oh yeah almost forgot if you didn't figure it out the Duster was an auto.
