Wont start when it rains.

My 95 Z28 wont start when it rains. The car has 215000 miles but the opti and plug wires were replaced at 80000. Does this sound like the opti again? Other than that it runs great.
Thanks.

Not sure how long the opti is supposed to last but 135000 seems like a long time.

DEFINETLY the Coil. Had the same problem after chaning Opti, plugs, wires. I even had a new MSD coil with less than 5000 miles on it. Whenever it would rain, it wouldnt fire. The new MSD coil went bad on me. Try changing it and see if it helps.

I'd check out and possibly replace the coil and coil wire to the opti. If its unplugged or damaged it wont start.

Re: Wont start when it rains.

Check the boot on the wire to the plug. It might not be covering the plug all the way, and when it rains, the plug might be getting wet, causing it to not spark.
