wont start
if opti is bad the engine will turn, but inmost cases it acts like there is absolutely no spark... not firing or sputtering or anything. one thing i usually do is remove the vacuum harnedd check valves and blow through the tube.. if you hear a gurggling sound... its replacement time. I will geenrally on about a 3 month interval use a vacuum gauge and test the seal on the opti. if the vacuum holds without leakdown, the opti unit is still sealed. if not it has a seal break somewhere and depending on your driving behavior ie.. in rain or moisture etc... it will begin to form rust on the inside due to moisture being pulled in by the intake manifold vacuum hose that is actually meant to help remove moisture from the optispark. i am swapping one out myself today on a 95 vette.. never a fun task..always a huge annoyance!
good luck!

it;s possible that it got wet. but usyaly will only get in there while you are driving not when it;s itting still..
does the car crank and not start or just not crank? I am a little confused about what your asking...
if it cranks and will not start you might find this will help some.
No start Diagnostics
please forgive the typos and spelling errors, I am still editing that artical..
