ok well here it is. i was storing my car for the winter but my daily driver broke down. this winter i installed a delteq ign. system and i thought it was the problem but there is no problem with the ign i tested all the wires installed new plugs and everything is correct. Ok what happens is the car will idle like crap (like a huge vaccum leak) but after about 20 min it clears up and idles fine. above 3000 rpm loaded or not it is fine. if you have any ideas or need more info please let me know thanks.

 

i have more info i put tts datamaster on it and it says that im in fuel trim cell 16 at idle and when it idles ok after about 20 min it goes back to normal???

Open loop closed loop all the time when does it happen?

 

fuel pressure?

 

all the time open or closed loop has fuel pressure i think it may be it is reseting kam everytime i turn it off i will check it out???

 

Has anyone had intake gaskets go bad and cause a vacuum leak which might be my problem

Well a vacuum leak would explain the bad idle but i dont know about for 20 mins. Get a piece of hose or if you can swing it a stethascope(sp) and take the needle off and run it around the intake and see if you can hear a leak.

 

Don't think a leak would clear itself up after while. It seems as though you are running lean at cold start up. Perhaps the engine doesn't know it's cold and never enrichens the fuel mixture. Does it only happen when the engine is cold or every time it's restarted whether cold or not?

Maybe a little more information about the vehicle and mods along with any work that was done or when the problem occured, what had been done right before that.
