This is going to seem like a silly question....is the accelerator cable still intact?

That code sets because of a MAF sensor problem. Check to see if you have 12v to the pink wire on the harness with the key on.

make sure the intake didn't suck something up and is stuck against the maf screen blocking air flow. a buddy one time put a bag over his airfilter on his truck while washing the engine and forgot to take it off. same issue.

I checked the pink wire, it's getting 13v. I also checked the air intake assembly and theres nothing blocking air.

Re: Wont go over 500 rpms

So..to clarify..the engine runs the same regardless of throttle position?

This makes little sense. If it was only fueling for 500 rpm, opening the throttle should cause it to stall. I recommend you first operate the throttle by hand with the engine running, then pull off the intake tube and confirm the throttle is actually opening when you move the lever...

Yeah I moved the throttle by hand on the lever and at wot, it's still at 500 rpms. I also checked to see if It was actually opening and it was...

Re: Wont go over 500 rpms

Ok...that just doesn't make sense. All I can think of is to reset the PCM....try pulling the ign fuse for a few seconds.

The reason it doesn't make sense is from an airflow standpoint. If the PCM thinks the throttle is closed it'll fuel for that amount of airflow. If you open the throttle and not increase the fuel the engine should lean out and die. If you add the correct amount of fuel, the engine speed should increase....

Re: Wont go over 500 rpms

Alright, ill will try that when i get home.

When i give it throttle, it kinda sounds like it doesnt have enough fuel...What can cause the engine to lean out like this?

I'd put it on a scanner and look at the TPS reading....

Re: Wont go over 500 rpms

Okay so i put a scanner on today, and at WOT, the TPS was reading 100%..so im guessing the its not the tps thats reading bad.

But here are somethings i wrote down that i got from the scan

(These readings are while idling at 400-450.)

Spark Advance - 16-18 degrees

Long Term FT - Bank 1= +25% Short Term FT - Bank 1 = +5.5%
Bank 2 = +12.5% Bank 2 = +3.1%

Engine load = 5.5%

Re: Wont go over 500 rpms

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge to check the fuel pressure?

The only thing(in my experience) that comes close to doing what you have described is a clogged exhaust....it happened when a cat converter went bad. However, it appears that you don't have them.
