Re: wondering heads question
Winston cup MOtor's.. they're one of the single best designed/flowing Small block head.. And a Gm casting to boot.. Only downside is elaborate valvetrain is req'd as well as custom headers.. but they typically flow 370+_cfm on avg..
Re: wondering heads question
well with how many people put them into lt1 they dont have a specific headers? cant modify the bolt patern?
what is the best flowing fully ported lt1/lt4 heads then? afr? does brodix make anything?

Re: wondering heads question
AFR make's a bolt on app for the LTx motor's.. So for plug and play app's afr is the way to go.. You have to set a goal and then go from there.. if your looking for a solid 400rwhp LTx. then i'd say a ported set of stock casting's from either LE/Ai would get you there w/ minimal fuss... if your looking for 500+ need to look into aftermarket casting's or Forced indux..
Re: wondering heads question
thanks for the info...what what can we get outa some ported afr? my goal is not necessarely anything right now...trying to make 10 on the stock longblock...but no money so its comming slowly...when it comes time to it id like to have a trick set of heads and bottom end with a kinda mild sized cam like the 306 in a 383 so it would retain drivability, fair mileage...and be a n20 slu* deep into the 9's
Re: wondering heads question
The most straight-forward thing you can do for alot of flow and minimal fuss is the AFR210's. The Race Ready's will flow 280 cfm out the box, while the more expensive Competition porting will get you over 290. I'm sure LE or AI could get a touch over 300 and they bolt right in.
Stepping up to 220's or 227's can probably get you 315 cfm with the right porting, but the valve-train isn't so easy because the intake pushrods are offset.
