Wondering aloud if a converter will actually slow my 1/4 times

right now with everything pretty much stock other than gears, CAI, and pcm tuning I am running 13.21 @ 104 with a 1.9 60' time on well used Goodyear GSCs.

I thought about a converter (and will get one eventually regardless) but I wonder if I installed one now if traction would kill me far more than the added launch would help.

I already have to punish the tires in the burnout box (spin them through 2 gears) to get any kinda traction at all, and even then I have to feather off the line and it still fishtails slightly hitting 2nd

On street tires I think a torque converter is going to hurt your launch more than it's going to help, I'd wait until you get some sticky tires. You said yourself you already have a hard time getting traction, a higher stall torque converter is just going to make for a harder launch.
