It has only been 30 minutes since you posted. Please give people a chance to read it. See the sticky at the top about "TTT".

Thanks!

personally i think 3.73's are the best all around street gears for an a4. In OD youll run about 500 rpm's higher than stock (2.73's) or atleast thats what mine has.

Eh? Is that a little attitude I sense?

You'll find here that if you lose the attitude you'll get a lot more help.

Maybe I didn't answer your question because I have no opinion based on the info you provided. How many miles a day do you drive? Do you race at the track like once a week or once a decade? Are you concerned about gas mileage? What are your long term goals? Nitrous? Supercharger? Low 14s or Low 10s? At what speed do you primarily drive?

Take some time and provide some necessary info up front and you'll find that people will spend more time answering the questions for you.

3.42's would be very well suited for that combination of conditions.

Well that's what I'm running, and while 3.73's would also be a decent choice, I'd stick with 3.42's considering your highway speeds (same as mine too). On the street, you're more likely to have major traction issues with 3.73 or 4.10's, and have to run sticker/expensive tires all the time. Once you're supercharged or do other serious mods, you'll have all you can handle with 3.42's. When I went from 2.73's to 3.42's, I started driving with my drag radials full time because I couldn't keep the street tires from spinning anytime I punched it in first or second.

You might want to consider a torque converter as well...excellant bang for the buck.
