Do I really need the wiring harness ( racetronix) for the walbro fuel pump or can I just do without it.

This is for a bolt-on 95 Z.

 

The harness increases the voltage to the fuel pump; the pump's ability to supply fuel is directly related to its supply voltage, therefore a higher voltage equates to higher fuel flow. In your case the extra fuel flow is overkill.
