Is there a way you can adjust how far the wiper blade can go because on my car it goes 6-7 inches of the left side of the window

 

There might be a technical way to do it, I would take the arm off and bend it carefully. I almost always have to bend the wiper blades when i get new ones cause they dont catch the whole window.

 

so if i put new ones it will fix it because i need new ones anyway i thought that it was just how the arm was set

 

Depends on whether or not you replace the whole arm, or just the blade. My car had the big plastic covers on top of the arm, (this got deleted mid year 97), i took these off anyway, cause i think they make the car look cheap, it made it a lot easier to see what was going on with the arm.
