will these rockers work with stock valve covers?

I have a set of 1.6 rockers, i'm thinking they're the lt4 rockers with 7/16 studs. The nut that tightens the rockers is about 1 1/4 long. When I had my cam put in the guy said the rockers wouldn't work. also, is there supposed to be some kind of washer that goes in between the rocker and the nut?

thanks

Yes they should work no problem. You may have to clearence the valve covers but i'm 90% sure they will work without doing so.

Good, looks like I have another project What is involved in clearancing the covers? also on my stock 1.5 rockers there is a washer that goes between the nut and the rocker. These do not have anything of that sort. Is it required?

If they are LT4 rockers, no clearance is required. No washer is required on the LT4 rockers because they are full roller rockers.

Are you sure they are LT4 rockers? Are they silver? Do they have a little 'bowtie' stamped on them?

'REAL' LT4 rocker nuts[NOT 'hotcam kit' rockers, but rockers off an LT4 engine] just tighten down[ but you DO need real LT4 studs[shouldered stud]
So no no poly locks for those..
But you DO need the right studs..
That is if you have 'LT4 rockers'

hmm, so How do I tell the difference between the real lt4 rockers and the rockers that come in the hotcam kit?

Not sure, since I don't have them, I have regular Crane Golds..
I do know that they do not have the poly lock in them [as it isn't used]

I believe the adjusting nut to be sized for a 10mm stud [so if it doesn't fit a regular LT1 stud, that's a good hint]
Correction.. it may be a shouldered 7/16ths stud [still, larger than a regular LT1 stud]

If they are LT4 rockers [not from hotcam kit] you need LT4 studs..[shouldered, then the rocker gets tightened down to that]

Perhaps someone that has a real LT4 motor can add more info to this..

i have the LT4 rockers and LT4 studs....i belive they are a bit skinnier and a lil bit taller ( the studs) cause i posted aboust these rockers a while ago, cuase i didnt know if i was suppose to tighten them down all the way or not, but figured out i had to, cuase the poly locks wouldnt work they were too big for the bolt.....jsut tighten them down till they wont turn no more and add about 40-60 lbs of trq to them maybe less.....dont worry it wont hurt your engine if you have the right ones, and when they say shouldered Studs, thats the name of them so if youw ant go ask someone or take apic of them and show them, my best bet is to ask SHOEBOX he should know the differnece between shoulderd studs then reg studs....

I'm gonna hold off on the install until I figure out what rockers these are. I don't know if I need poly-locks or not. I'll look around for a pic of the lt4 studs.

thanks
