Will these motor mounts work?
Will these motor mounts work?
I'm going to install pacesetter lt's this week, so I decided to replace the motor mounts first. went to advance auto and they set me up with two identical motor mounts made by pioneer inc. part # 602292. I thought the two motor mounts were different, but the guy at the store insisted that they were not. Are these the right ones?
Re: Will these motor mounts work?
I didn't think the two mounts were identical. this part i have interchanges with part #'s 2292
m2292
270-2292
It is a large square mount about 3'' by 6''-which side does that sound like?
Here is the mount on advance auto website. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...ype=27&ptset=A On there they claim that this is the right and left mount.
Your prothane mounts both look different than that. Will I run into clearance problems with these? I'm installing them to avoid clearance problems due to a sagging mount. This is becoming more complicated than I thought it'd be!

Re: Will these motor mounts work?
Surely someone else has purchased this brand of mount
...the mount includes the outer clamshell which has four bolt holes in it and two rivets holding it together.
I'm in a hurry to get them on, and I really want to use them if they are ok. Searching for the part number yields nothing, so I'm not totally convinced that advance auto's database is right about these being the right mounts. Wouldn't be the first time I've had to return a part to them.
Like I said, they are both the same part number and are supposed to be right and left mount for lt1's. They were ten bucks apiece.
Called another parts place and they also insisted that the mounts were the same. I looked under the car and they look different. Said that all gm engines are like that...I'm not buying that!
