Exclamation Will these headers work...PLEASE!!

I need to know if these headers will work with an LT1. They are Hooker LT's 1 3/4 inch in and 3" out. The only problem, which I knew(but thought it was okay), is that the inlets are round and not rectangular. I bought them off a friend that said he had them on his LT1 and I just paid 250 for the coating. Will they be okay...Thanks a ton. The new engine is going in this weekend and I can't afford to buy new ones...nor can I WAIT and longer!!!!!

Are they circles or ovals? From what I've seen the LT1 Hooker headers are an oval shape (kinda like "0"). If they're a circle then that sounds like headers made for the LS1. If that's the case I definitely wouldn't put them on.

If they are made for an LS1 you will definately know it. The primaries wont even line up with your exhaust ports. LT1 has the traditional SBC alignment with the 2 middle ports next to each other. LS1 exhaust ports are evenly spaced apart.

I'm going to take a head over to my dads house, where the headers are, and will try to line them up. He says they came off of his LT1 and they may be from a LT4...so I'll let you know if they line up. If they line up will they be okay? Thanks for the help.

Maybe I am wrong but take the exhaust gasket you plan to use and match it to the head and then match it to the header to see what kind of fitment you will have. Just a thought

If they look like a circle, then they're for a LS1. But if they are in a D shape, then they're for a LT1. I would do what the guy suggested. Get some LT1 exhaust gaskets and line them up with the headers.

Everything lined up okay. Bolt holes were where they were suppose to go and the exhaust inlets on the header lined up the the exhuast outlets on the heads. I don't know what they're from, but he said he did use them on his LT1. I would have just taken the gasket and tried to line it up, but the gasket and heads are here and the headers are at my dads. Oh well, it all lines up...I spent too much on them to have to start over...especially since I'm dropping the new motor in on wed...FINALLY...after 4 months of waiting. Thanks guys.
