i am building a 383, the plan is forged 5cc dish pistons, forged I beams, and cast crank...will that hold up okay with an xe 230 cam, stock heads (for now), and 200 shot wet kit if its tuned right??

Why not go with a Forged Crank to be sure, I know Eagle makes some reasonably priced ones.

If it is tuned right, your setup should be able to hold that 200 shot and the cam easily.

Ever notice how there's never enough time/money to do it right, but always enough to do it over?

Yes, that should be strong enough.

My 383 has been together for over 5 years now, with a cast steel scat crank, Forged pistons, and stock rods (w/ polished beams and arp bolts). It's been sprayed quite often with up to (and including) a 300 shot, Until last year, it was my daily driver.

Most people get on the all forged/billet bandwagon cause everyone else is doing it. But it's just not needed for all applications, and you can definetly build a dependable, long lasting street stroker without a forged steel crank and h-beam rods.

I was on a budget myself, when building my motor.
