Help. I went to take my '93 z28 auto (all stock) out for a run this morning. Started first turn but after about 2 miles the car stalled when pulling away at some lights. It took a lot of cranking to get it to restart as it appeared to have flooded ( a strong smell of gas from under the hood) and when it did start, a lot of black sooty smoke came from the exhaust. The throttle was flat to the floor but it would only rev to about 900 rpm. The car gradually began to run better and the exhaust skoke cleared slightly but if I took my foot off the pedal the engine just died. I've had the spark checked and that appears to be OK. Also, there was some grey smoke coming from under the car where the exhausts join which leaked up through the handbrake housing.
Any ideas where best to start please.

 

Ever change your o2 sensors?I bet thats the problem.Also you need to fix the exhaust leak.
