not sure...most likely a reman i would guess...but its just that....a guess

 

They are new. LT4s dont come reman, only the LT1s do.

Where can I find an LT4 starter brand new ? Anyone have any part #'s ?

 

If it you have a 6spd you will have to move the y-pipe or at least I would have so I just got the reman LT1 unit.

And yes, they are new, not reconditioned[ as the GM LT1 starters are]

 

they wont clear FLP longtubes, but they will fit all others i have seen.

 

How does this starter compare to an aftermarket reduction type?

 

I just installed this starter on my LT1 and absolutly love its torque and turning power. Sounds great too. I do have FLP's so I did have to modify the solinoid on the new starter to fit. As far as it being lighter than my stocker, I'd have to see it on a scale. The 2 starter felt like they were almost the same wt or to close to really tell the difference to make it really matter....
