Yes, you can use LS1 Comp springs on your LT1.

I just had some installed on my car. I would have to look up the part numbers on my receipt from the shop. I think the springs were Comp 915s. You need to get the proper retainers in order to use them. They were rated for something like .625 lift.

Well first... springs are NOT springs. There are huge variances aside from spring rate etc. in quality & performance. Otherwise people wouldnt pay a premium for quality pieces.

As far as fitment... well if you can get the right parts & have the available installed height, then obviously it will work. To many kids w/o a clue trying to look smart on the internet . I don't know why you'd particularly want to run the 915/918 conical wound stuff, aside from a slight (& for most people, probably insignificant) weight savings. The ovate stuff is difficult to wind & get right anyway... Your $ though if you want to pay a premium for'em

Well talked to comp cams and you can get the CC983-KIT which comes with retainers, springs and keepers for 120$, but these springs are good only to about .560, which isnt good for me since Im pushing .570s. My buddy has a set of CC918 springs with about 1000 miles on them that I can have for free so thats why I asked. I called Comp and what did they reccommend for .600 plus? CC918s, but you will need a differnt retainer due to valve stem diameter difference between the 2. Just thought I would let you guys know that.

What parts did you end up going with?

Also, what's the deal with the valve stem diameter being different between the two? The two what?

Just to update this thread for future reference, the CC918 springs will work fine with the LT1 heads but the valve stem dia for the locks is 11/32" and not 5/16" like the LS1 are.

I am not aware of having to use a different retainer because of the valve stem diameter as I am using the ones that I was told to use for the CC918 springs used on the LT1. The retainers are part # 787-16.

Also wanted to add that the weight savings when using these springs and retainers would be comparable to running titanium valves.
