Will a LS1 airbox fit a LT1 (with stock hood)?
Anyone ever try this? I'm tired of always cleaning my CAI....it gets hosed every time it rains and looks like a sugar cookie when I go to clean it. 
At least the LS1 setup isn't in the fenderwell..... so.....anyone know??

ive seen a 96 firebird with a lid on it, but he wouldnt reply how he put it on. womeone out there knows what needs to be done, because there's not much difference under the hood. anyone who has replaced the lt1 airbox with a ls1 airbox please reply and/or email me on directions.

A lid doesn't flow that great compared to using the actual Ultra Z setup. I'm sure if you're really hell-bent on it you could chop up your radiator shroud and maybe pull away some of your hood insulation and get the thing to squeeze in there. Your best bet is to buy a stock lid from a junkyard and mess with it.
If you get it to work, write a howto about it. Can't say I'd want to do it myself, but a bunch of people would probably be interested.
