Will I Need An LT4 KM?
When I got my tune Ion desensitized (SP) my knock sensor, but will I still need to get the LT4 KM? Or should I just wait and see if I pull any knock retard?
Thanks in advance |
I would wait and see.

LT4 KM is a waste, do it in the tune. Yes you will have noise with a forged piston. And you will have piston slap when its cold.

I would wait and get the car scanned. Only way of knowing for sure.

Get the free download from:
TTS DataMaster: http://www.ttspowersystems.com/ (20 free uses) FreeScan: http://www.andywhittaker.com/ Then get a cable, specifically for the type of connector on your laptop, and the 16-pin ALDL connector on your 95: http://www.akmcables.com/ Then read this: http://members.aol.com/InjuneerZZ/ScanMast.htm The LT4 knock module **MAY** be useful. It is a filter circuit that include filtering specifically tuned to eliminate the noise signature of the Crane Gold roller rockers used in the LT4 engine. It differs from "desensitizing". The filter keeps **SOME** extraneous noises from reaching the PCM's knock retard system. Desensitizing either reduces the level of all of the signals reaching the PCM (resistor circuit), or limits the PCM's response to all the signals that do reach it (PCM tuning). A subtle, but important difference in function that escapes some people. |

Thanks, all I need now is a laptop :( I think a buddy of mine has one and I can download some stuff for his car and we'll be even then. I appreciate all of the links that you provided, now for some reading :D |
