As some of you may have seen I am getting ready to stuff a 396 in my 94 Z. I want to know which will give out first, the 10 bolt or the 4l60e? I figure I should go ahead and get ready for it.

 

Well, it is kind of a crapshoot, both pose as potential weaknesses if you are going to put in a high horsepower motor. My best guess would be to do the trans first and the rear end next, but avoid sticky tires and hard launches in order to keep the rear end from an early death as well.

 

You dont even need to put any power into the 4L60E and it will die.

The 4l60E for sure, no doubt at all.
