My guess would be that u would net about 15 RWHP from 1.6 rockers and a Y-pipe.

Add headers to that combo and U'll definitely see 20+ horsepower to the wheels.

Just seeing in your sig that you say the car is ' mostly stock ' No you won't pick up that much, with the combo of a y-pipe and the 1.6rr on a STOCK motor , that includes stock valvetrain-cam etc.. You may pick up as much as 13 rwhp with the two mods you want.

If you have a aftermarket cam in the car now, it may be possible to pick up more.

Now if you have Alvin or the guys as pcmforless.com do a tune for you, you may pick up close to 20rwhp +- some, with the roller rockers, and y pipe. he can eliminate useless things in your computer tune if you live in an area with no emissions.

Hope this helps.

Going off of what you have in your sig, I wouldn't expect a whole heck of a lot by doing engine related mods right now. Your kind of putting the horse before the carriage here.

If you want to see the most out of the $$ you put towards the mods as you progress with them, start with the breathing at the furthest points and work your way to the engine. A cold air, an exhaust/cut-out, then headers, then start on the engine with the 1.6's or a cam & vlavetrain.

At each point you'll see some improvement and you'll be setting up the following mods as you go.. make any sense?

I agree with that statement though. Do your bolt on's then do motor related products. That is what I did, and it worked well for me.

maybe some of you read my sig wrong, the car is an ss so it already has the free flowing 2 on the left, and the ram air box, and my pcm has already been tuned by pcmforless with the 93 octane tune, so thats why my next mods are going to be 1.6rr and the y-pipe as i want to stay away from headers, so why wouldnt the y-pipe and 1.6rr give me atleast 20rwhp? i heard just 1.6rr is worth between 12-17 rwhp nad the y-pipe is good for like 8-10 am i missing something here...

IMO the random tech dual cat y-pipe is worth zero horsepower.

I once made an offroad y-pipe to replace the stock one when I was running JBA dual cat headers on my SS, and picked up no horsepower, and no et/mph at the track.

The restriction is the outlet diameter of the manifolds (which dictates the y-pipe diameter), NOT the catalytic converters themselves.

The shorty dual-cat headers, and aftermarket y-pipes are restrictive and offer minimal gains for the money invested, as compared to switching to a single cat header/y-pipe, or longtube setup.

Headers would be cheaper, and net better gains. Single cat with ORPof course.

I read your SIG just as it was stated.
I would have him do a tune for WHAT mods you plan on putting on the car, let me rephrase what I was trying to say.

IMOP-The y-pipe won't do much for you, If you open the exhaust there, you are not going to let much more 'exhaust' from the actual source itself- the manifolds. If you put good length headers on it, you will free up the power you are looking for.

On a stock engine, 1.6 rr are good for about 10-12 hp at max on stock valvetrain. so you are looking at maybe 6-7 rwhp or so?

If you do plan on doing the roller rockers, and the y-pipe, then don't expect a world of a difference , probably +1mph and one tenth minus at the track.

But you would get MOST out of those mods, if you had him retune it for your more flowing exhaust, But i would recommend some headers, not the most fun thing to do on the car, but you will need to do them either now or later, I recommend now so when you do motor work you will notice a larger increase.

With decent headers, just a Y pipe and rockers? No, not IMO. Rockers are good for higher RPM though, they reduce friction over the stamped stuff, but they are not magical. If your not replacing the springs get 1.5s to be safe.
