The C4 Vette didnt use a T56, it used the 'ZF' six speed. Its a much more expensive trans, really not much stronger if any though than the 94-97 fbody t56 from what I hear. I believe the ZF trans can work in an Fbody though without much trouble, not sure of the specifics of the swap but I've heard it can work.
