Its just a resistor. You wire it inline with your intake air temp sensor. Basicly it tricks the computer into advancing your timing a bit. Can be made at home.
Not really worth buying.

Save your money and go to Radio Shack and buy the resistor 4.7k resistor you get 5 for a $1.00.

Just unplug IAT sensor, bend the resistor into a "U" shape, stick the ends in the plug on the harness end, wrap it in tape and stick it in a film canister for protection.

This will fool your computer into thinking it is always 52 degrees outside, resulting in better performance due to a better mixture. You know how your car always seems more responsive when it ic cold? with this mod it feels like that all the time!

The resistor can be purchased at Radio Shack for next to nothing. You'll get a package containing 5 for a $1.00

Here is a picture of the sensor

Yea that is the right resistor. I have also thought about doing this and many people have mixed feelings about. I have heard from several people that this could cause some damage over time but I am not certain about that. Let someone else chime in and see what they have to say.

I'm a firm believer in giving the PCM accurate data to work with. All these "chips" are simply resistors and are hacks, IMO.

Wait until you get some "real" mods on the car and have it tuned, ie. changing the actual data tables to match your car instead of feeding it bad data full time. I spend lots of time tuning, and if it was as easy as fudging an input, I would've saved myself the trouble

For the record, I hate the ported MAF "mod" as well, with the possible exception of running a straight induction path such as a WS6 setup. Even then, the MAF table within the PCM should be tuned to match the MAF.

The TB bypass is a good free mod though

i always thought doing a throttle body bypass was bad..if you lived in a place where it got cold...wehre i live in kansas in the winter it gets to -5 sometimes or worse...and i still drive my car when its not snowy so wouldn't it be a bad idea to do a throttle body bypass??

It gets ever so slightly chilly here in Wisconsin

I haven't heard of a single problem, and if the Canadians of CZ28.com haven't had a problem than I don't think Kansas will either

I suppose if the conditions were absolutely perfect, humid but just at freezing, the pressure drop across the TB could cause it to ice up on a cold start car. I just don't see it happening. If you can find a case of it happening I'd love to see it!
