will car start with belt off?

will car start with belt off?

got a 96 z28
alternators is off and s o is belt but can't get it to start?
so check to see if was firing and #1 is firing and fuel pump is humming.

car will start fine without the belt but the battery will die rather quickly if you continue to run it
