will the car even turn on with VATS activated?

I just got the engine started but only for a sec and it'll die. Does this sound like VATS? WOuld the car even start if VATS is activated or would it just crank but not fire up? I also have a LT1edit, can this diable it?

My experience with VATS was when my ignition switch VATS contacts broke and the car would not even turn over. With VATS activated I would not get any ignition signal to the starter solinoid. If I hotwired the starter the engine of course would turn over but it wouldn't fire (I believ the ignition was disabled not the fuel). The "Security" light would be on constanly also.
I don't think your problem is VATS, you could put a fuel presure gauge on the schrader valve on your fuel rail (Summit sells one made by Accell or TPIS sells one) to see if you are loosing fuel presure. If it turns over, and has fuel then that leaves it being a spark problem.
My bet would be a fuel related problem, you may have a problem with loss of power to the pump after it starts. The pump is starting when you first turn the ignition on (to prime the system) but then stops after your car runs for a few seconds. I believe I read somewhere that if you have no oil presure signal within the first few seconds the computer stops the fuel pump to shutdown your engine and save it. How is your oil presure during this time? (if no presure, bad sending unit??)
