Will a 97 optispark work on a 95 LT1?

Will a 97 optispark work on a 95 LT1?
I was pretty sure it did but i got this used one in today off ebay and its off a 97, everything looks the same except its a little bit thicker, there is like an extra black peice in the middle or something.....will it still fit????

Nevermind i asked my friend and i was confused bc the peice that i referred to as the "extra peice" was white on my other opti and I had forgotten about it....everything is kewl now.
