I have a lt4 383 with a cam that has about 550 lift and 1.6 rockers. the car has lt4 composite covers on it I want to put some chrome or polished ones on it for the look. Do I need taller covers or is stock tall enough? I guess an easier question is LT4 covers taller than stock? Thanks

 

LT4 valve covers are the same height as the stock LT1 composite covers. But, the earlier LT1 covers had drip tabs. I'm running the early LT1 composite covers, drip tabs removes, with .622 lift, and no clearance problems.

 

stl so you are saying they are the same height as the ones I would take off a stock lt1?

 

The LT1 and LT4 composite valve covers are the same height. I'm not sure about the steel LT1 VC's
