Exclamation how much slack in timing chain

i have a lt1 which is believe is un-rebuilt and has 181k miles. with the chain on, it seems like it has alot of slack in it,possibly too much. would you guys recommend changing it while the covers off? or do you think the slack is normal?

When I replaced my stock timing chain at 20k miles, it had alot of slack. So, I'm assuming slack in the stock chain is normal. But with 181k miles, I would replace the chain while the timing cover is off.

On me last build I decided to replace the chain on my LT4 extreme duty timing set due to I had about 1/4 inch of play. I reinstalled with a new chain and ended up with about a 1/4 play so some play is normal.
